UNARMOURED has been making its victorious run through Europe, and is finally coming to Oslo. The piece combines queer club aesthetics and choreography in an explosive blend – charged with erotic energy.
On stage, we meet Furey herself and three performers, in expressions filled with raw sensual energy, strong presence, and bodily intensity. There are no gender markers or social masks here – just open bodies in motion, collectively exploring desire, longing, and identity.
The experience is intense and physical. Movements oscillate between raw and animalistic, dreamlike and tender. The performance resembles in many ways the first fleeting seconds of a "trip"; a state shared with the audience. The stage transforms into a living being: electric, steaming, and constantly in motion.
The piece continues in the wake of Furey’s previous works like Cosmic Love and Dog Rising. All existential experiments where movement and sound merge and evoke emotional waves.
The pulsating soundscape is created by Tomas Furey (Twin Rising), with deep bass, dark techno rhythms, and vocal fragments weaving through the space. The soundscape functions as scenery, co-performer, and heartbeat. And the sound becomes more than what you hear. You feel it in your body.
Clara Furey is a dancer, choreographer, musician, and actor, regarded as one of the most exciting voices in the Canadian contemporary scene right now. Her queer signature is sensual, unpredictable – and utterly irresistible.
UNARMOURED is an intense bodily manifesto. A celebration of presence and desire, beyond norms and expectations. It reclaims desire in a time marked by distance and cynicism.
On Friday evening, the night continues in the foyer of Black Box Theatre – with DJ, dark beats, and dance.
